AN ACCIDENT OF BIRTH

Being born black is an accident of birth; however, that "accident" carries with it great privileges and responsibilities. It is an honor to be born to a race that produced so many great monarchs, warriors, scholars, artists and artisans while others lived in darkness and ignorance. We are duty bound--each and every one of us--to live up to that greatness and carry it through to each generation that comes after us. Global society has set us up for failure in so many ways. It is our responsibility to succeed. The obstacles that have been placed in our path should only serve to make us better and stronger. We must walk into the fire of adversity as broken pieces only to be forged into a single tool to shape our world into a better place.

We as a people can no longer sit by and blame others for our lack of success.  When our own people are the ones that are killing us.  It's not the media or Bush.  It's us, how many of us, if infected with HIV would continue to have unprotected sex knowingly and willingly infecting the next black person.  We're not doing it to any other race.   Saying "nobody told me, so I'm taking everybody I can with me."  How many times do you have sex with someone and you barely know them?  How often do you ask that person if they are HIV positive and when was the last time they were tested?  Why is it that Black Men are in such a hurry to die?  Why is it that no one wants to grow old any more?  In case some of you don't know, based on your recent actions if you died today, Heaven is not where you will be going.  You're supposed to want to grow old to make amends for your past sins to earn your way into heaven.  Not to mention be around to guide the generations that you helped make.  How many of us sit down and read books, not VIBE, not Essence or Ebony.  But read something meaningful.  Instead of worrying about what beef one rapper has with another.  Or worrying about some street or block that doesn't know you exist.  How does that help you.  A brother just wrote a book titled "STUPID BLACK MEN".  Not that any Black Man under 30 will take the time to read it or read period.  It's a point he's making about the majority of us.  The ones that don't care about how they look, dress, or speak.  Or how they're viewed upon in a world that used to be ours.  Why is it that the entire planet knows that if black people work together, there isn't anything that we can't do?  Why don't we know and understand that?  Why are we so worried about whether we are HOOD or not?  Or we wait until it's too late or something bad happens like Jenna 6, then we want to act like we're united for something.  In this day and time, we as Black Men and Women are our own worst enemy.  White people, or the system, or Society doesnt come close to the damage that we have done and are doing to ourselves.  Our children or everyone born in the 880's believe that everything is suppose to just be given to them.  Who taought them that?

Whats the difference between Black People and Niggas/Niggers?

We, as a people have officially SELF DESTRUCTED.

DID I VENT AGAIN?
